Just a quick Superbowl Sunday post on a topic Hank cares a bunch about: changing the lives of women + girls in the developing world.
Lifting the world’s girls out of poverty and lives of servitude with education is a big issue with Hank, so he’d like to share the following resources with you. Hank believes that when we change girls’ lives for the better we change the world for the better. He thinks you will want to pass these sites around and get involved–however you can–after you watch (click below). GUARANTEED:
For more background, Hank also recommends checking out the book from Nick Kristof and Cheryl WuDunn, Half the Sky and their website (click on the logo below). These folks seriously rock:
Here’s a link to Kristof’s great article in the NYT: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/08/23/magazine/23Women-t.html
Finally, a plug for another of Hank’s all-time favorite groups–Central Asia Institute. CAI builds schools and educates girls in arguably the most difficult and dangerous places in the world. And they succeed, brilliantly (click logo below):
That’s it for now.
Peace out, dogs, sleep well and thanks for staying up. Change is on the wind!
