Alley Cap

Our friend Cap went for a chilly February adventure this morning, poking around Seattle’s back alleys and sniffing the light while Hank stayed nestled under blankets, dreaming of sandwiches and the coming of spring.

Happy Friday, everyone and hope some sun shines down on you, too!

These are great photos! The triple-locked disintegrating door, the moss metropolis, the parasol-tree shadows…nice finds!

  2. Hank. says:

Thanks! Cap sure can pick’em. The smells, sights and sounds on a sunny morning are endlessly fascinating, especially in an alley where the raccoons held sway the night before. No wonder that disintegrating door has three locks!

Cap, you took some VERY creative photos! I love those!! Hope that spring arrives for Hank soon (along with his sandwiches!)

  4. Hank. says:

Thank you!! Of course, it snowed the next day. But! But! Sandwiches.

Awesome shot, love the door and the shadow, well done !

Much obliged, pardner! Thanks for the note!

How I miss the serendipitous finds of Greenwood’s alleys! Magnolia’s alleys are nice (and full of chickens in finely crafted domiciles) but too tidy. Not as fun for foragers, whether two legged or four. Thanks so much for sharing the bounty of my old ‘hood!

  8. Hank. says:

Oh, Catherine! How we miss you! Outer Magnolia has gained a fine new citizen, but we have lost a kindred spirit…the boys recently passed one of the fence-lines where delicious grapes reign/rain in the summer and thought of you! We still spend a lot of time prowling about the back byways so we’ll keep you posted on our doings. BIG HUGS!!
